Upper School

Grades nine through twelve comprise our Upper School. Structured courses prepare students for further education in college or careers. Independent research is encouraged throughout the curriculum. Our students benefit from honors programs in core subjects. Students who successfully complete the additional challenges of these classes will be able to earn an additional point toward their accumulative grade-point average.

Academic extracurricular opportunities include Student Government, Drama Guild, Forensics, Scholastic Bowl Participation, Newspaper Staff, Yearbook Staff, and more.

Opportunities are available for our students to participate in sports programs including cross country, soccer, volleyball, cheerleading, basketball, softball and baseball.

Class Schedules

Beginning with Grade 5, students change rooms for classes.

Individual schedules are arranged beginning with Grade 9. Schedules may be changed until the first progress reports go home, only with the written permission of the student, parents and teacher(s) and only after a conference between the student and the guidance counselor.

Amelia Academy issues a 24-, 26- and 28-credit diploma.
